On Friday, June 18th, 11 representatives from the Marriott met the MCVET team bright and early to join them for their typical Friday run.

After a presentation Thursday evening by Founder Anne Mahlum and Vice President of Growth and Expansion Sandi Maro, the group of executives were able to experience first hand the spirit of Back on My Feet.

The morning embodied the excitement of the newly formed partnership between the Marriott and Back on My Feet.   The two mile route took the team along the waterfront, through the sunrise, in  front of the Marriott for a quick picture and then back to base to celebrate the successes of the day.

Assistant to the Marriott CFO and VP Nancy Echelberger Martin said, “The group has not stop talking about what a great experience we had since we left.   [It was] a wonderful group – very motivating and inspirational.  I have no doubt they will go back to their desks and start thinking of ways to continue the efforts.”

Nearly a dozen Philadelphia alumni, staff, members and friends basked in a warm Sunday afternoon on a tiny patch of pavement at the corner of 12th and Brandywine streets Sunday, April 11, 2010.

James S. hopped on Jordan Hyatt’s grill, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers for both vegetarians and carnivores, while Maurice D. reminded more than one neighborhood kid that you can only dribble a basketball with one hand at a time.

Organized by Director of Alumni Services Owen Camuso, Phil Harris was aching after a marathon and no one could seem to get Director of Growth and Expansion Sandi Maro off the court, as she and Robert A. Hunt ran all competition, no matter their age.

See some other photos taken by Hunt of the event here, including this gem.

On March 19, 2010, Philadelphia Member Enrique D. cut the hair of Director of Growth and Expansion Sandi Maro.

Fresh off placing in the top 20 at a hair styling competition at Madison Square Garden that earned him a scholarship for additional training, Philadelphia Ready Willing and Able member Enrique D. showed off his skills to the Back on My Feet staff.

After giving Director of Outreach and Alumni Services Owen Camus a fresh cut, Enrique moved onto styling the hair of Sandi Maro, director of growth and expansion.
