On October 25th, 5 members from the Baltimore chapter competed in the MCM 10K held annually in DC.
“The weather could not have been more perfect for a race!” said Program Director Jackie Truncellito. “5 veterans on the MCVET team braved the capitol city, teeming with people excited about the Marine Corps Marathon and 10k. Though there were only 37,000 runners, the streets, the metro, the sidewalks were jammed with an additional 50,000 avid supporters – by far the biggest running event these guys have ever been a part of! Gary W., Tate M., Dennis J., Kevin R., and Charlie T. all represented Back on My Feet and MCVET proudly and finished in plenty of time to watch their training coach Peter Jackson demolish his marathon PR by 25 minutes! Team Leader Theresa & team members Jill & Heather were all out on the course with signs, flags and ardent support! The guys are hoping to bring the rest of their team next year to witness the grandeur that was the Marine Corps Running Festival!”
Thank you as well to all the individuals who ran in support of Back on My Feet. Special thanks to “Team Accenture” for forming a team of 24 people to run for Back on My Feet!
