This past Sunday, BoMF Indy made our way over to Victory Field to catch the Indians game! Over fifty BoMF friends showed up to support the home team and have a fun day of socializing with one another.

We made it through four innings before it started raining, but that didn’t ruin our day!

Dan and William enjoying some watermelon and sunshine!

Tom and Mike – good friends and running buddies

The field…. before the rain came down……

Taking cover from the rain…….

We all thought we brought blankets to sit on, but turns out they ended up being the shelter from the rain….

Although the day was cut short due to rainy weather, we still had a lot of fun. We enjoyed the company of one another, the sunshine while it lasted, baseball, yummy picnic food and standing in the rain laughing.

We can’t wait for the next outing!

A BIG thank you to Sandy Knox and Deb Gardner for planning this event! Everyone had a blast!

On May 31st, members and volunteers from all five of the BoMF DC teams gathered for a fun night at the Nationals Game. For some it was their first trip to a professional baseball game, and for others their first trip to the Nationals Stadium. Although it was a hot and muggy evening, everyone enjoyed watching the game, spending time with their teammates, and witnessing the Nationals beat the Phillies 10-2!

Dave W., Eric B., David C., Nick F., Marque E., Terrence E., Darius C., and volunteer Taishya represented the Clean and Sober Streets team. From the Blair House team, we had Chris G. and Alan S., with volunteers John Murray, Corey Murray, and core volunteer Allison Shade. Supporting the La Casa team, we had Bill P., Carlos M., James R., with volunteers Jonah Goodman, Carina Saunders, Devon O’Neil, and core volunteer Sally Clutche. Last but not least, from the N Street Village team, Caroline S. and team leader Lauren Gabler made it out to the game.

It was an amazing and inspiring night overall to see all the teammates and volunteers enjoying the game together.

The Philadelphia chapter had a great night at Citizens Bank Park last night, Wednesday September 22nd 2010.

The Philadelphia Phillies invited the Back on My Feet Philadelphia Program to watch the Phillies take on the Atlanta Braves.  Back on My Feet was able to sell 394 tickets to their non-res members who were joined by 75 res members at the game.

We could not have asked to go to a better game. Besides some rain showers in the 7th inning, the weather was beautiful. Roy Oswalt pitched an amazing game, and with the help of Ryan Madson and Brad Lidge the Phillies won their 10th straight win. This win put the Phillies ahead with a six game lead in the NL East.

Emery House raised the most money in Washington, DC for Back On My Feet’s July fundraising drive and won tickets to the see the Washington Nationals take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Even with the disappointing news about the Nat’s young phenom pitcher, Steven Strasburg, being out for the coming season, the stadium was in high spirits for a the Friday evening game!  Back On My Feet staffed the Community Desk inside the stadium to greet fans and to spread the word about BOMF.

With the All Feet On Deck 5K fun run the following morning it was a busy weekend for the Emery house members and volunteers. Pictures from the race can be seen here!

Back On My Feet would like to thank all who supported the organization by coming out to Wednesday night’s Phillies game against the Houston Astros. Back On My Feet reached their goal of selling over 500 tickets, so member Claudel “Fiddy” had the honor of throwing out the opening pitch! Six other members also had the opportunity to be in the limelight when they danced with the Philly Phanatic on top of the dugout during the seventh inning stretch.

As if that wasn’t enough, all in attendance witnessed the Phils beat the Astros 10-3, clinching the NL East title for the third consecutive season! Perhaps the enthusiastic Back On My Feet crowd was their good luck charm…

Pictures from the Phillies game will be posted soon!
