Team RWA had a lot of fun this June!

We raced in the Scott Coffee Moorestown Rotary 8k on Saturday, June 4th in Moorestown, NJ. Maurice and Cliff ran very well! Wardell, who had just joined RWA a week prior and had signed up for the walk, decided the morning of the race to run the 8k instead! We had a great time winding through the community of Moorestown. A huge thanks to non-res members, Jess, Kai, Heidi, Caitlin and Moorestown native, Shira, for supporting Team RWA and running with BoMF at the race!
RWA also gathered at the BoMF annual picnic in Fairmount Park. We debuted our Dragon-themed cheer (see below) that was co-written by James and Russell. The words to spell out Dragons existed long before I was a member, from the first RWA Back on My Feet team.

In the games section, Therion did very well in the Basketball shooting contest. He and I came in a close second for one of the wheelbarrow races due to my rough tumble on the ground. Krista, Wardell, Jess and Maurice had a ton of fun in the water balloon toss while Kevin and James shared their RWA spirit through chant writing and participation. Thanks everyone for coming out to the picnic!

To see the video of our cheer, check out the Back on My Feet Facebook page. We will be shouting out the lyrics again on July 1st for the BoMF Birthday Run. Getting pumped!

Members of the Month:

Res-Member of the Month: Yuseph is our Res member of the month! He has come a long way since he began our program with a shin injury. Yuseph has never let the pain hold him back, but has decided to take the smart route of training by alternating running and walking. His positivity throughout this process never ceases to amaze the team! Keep up the good work, Yuseph!
Non-res Member of the Month: Kristel! Come out on any given morning and chances are you’ll see Kristel with her creatively patterned headbands and good-natured spirit. Kristel has been a non-res member of the team for a while now and has done a lot to help out. She is always willing to run or walk any distance with the res members! Kristel even volunteered an early morning shift at the Broad Street expo. Thanks for being a great team member, Kristel!
