What a month for New Jerusalem Now! We had a great month of races with lots of PR’s. In Run for Jake Dave reached his goal of running a 5k in under 20 minutes! Mohamed also beat his previous PR on a 5k by 3 minutes and Joe beat his by 5 minutes! Awesome work guys! Our non-resident, Brian, placed second in that race.
We welcomed new residents Norvell, Greg, Michael and Darren. Mohamed signed up for classes at the community college! In the mileage department, Joe hit 50 miles, Carolyn hit 25 miles, Mereald hit 175 miles, and George hit 250 miles. All of our new residents already hit 5 miles and are almost to 10 miles! Joe’s birthday was April 22nd and we celebrated with cream cheese brownies!
Our plan over the next month is to keep pushing our mileage. We hope to keep on breaking PR’s! We are looking forward to Broad Street and this warm running weather. Our social event is an upcoming outdoor picnic as well! Come out and join us at 5:40AM Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 20th and Norris!
Members of the Month: Non Res and Res

Carolyn (Res) – “I enjoy running with BoMF because it helps provide me motivation, gets me healthy and helps get me back to work while keeping me sober. Each day I come out to run is another day clean for me.”
Brian (Non Res) – “The passion and enthusiasm that the Back on My Feet team leaders, staff, and other volunteers have for promoting self-sufficiency in the homeless population through running is both amazing and contagious. Having the opportunity to come volunteer with them and see, first-hand, the impact they have on the residents is a wonderful experience.”
