Team OBP came to life in the month of March. We welcome our newest res-member Daryl, who already looks strong and is running circles around the rest of us. A few of our newer res-members, Juan and Charles, accelerated their training by attending weekend training runs at Lloyd Hall. Shout out to Charles who celebrated his birthday on March 30th! BoMF night at North Bowl was a blast. We had a great turnout for res and non-res; Pete S., Matt, Dave F., and Charles get props for representing OBP and actually bowling during bowling night!
Juan completed his first race with OBP and BoMF, participating in the Caesar Rodney 5K. He was joined by non-res members Matt & Joan (who also ran their first race with us) and the ever-present Olani. Pete and Laura were there to take on the hills of the Caesar Rodney Half. The weather was better than expected; we all had a great time. We got a surprise from super-alum Mike Solomon who circled up with his old team from OBP and tackled the half-marathon with the rest of us. Good to see you Mike, come run with OBP anytime – as long as it’s 5:30am on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.

We celebrate our members of the month. Dave F. has shown dedication and patience while waiting for a foot injury to heal up. He spent the long winter months regularly circling up with us at 5:30 and waiting in the cold for the runners to return. We are all thrilled that he’s on the move again and he’s getting stronger every day. Dave had also made strides quitting smoking and we are all behind him. He would simply like to say, ‘Thanks’
Elizabeth is our non-res unsung hero and non-res member of the month. She always makes sure our St. Joe’s teammates make it to the circle in the morning – because there’s nothing like a car full of boundlessly energetic college students pouring out into the pre-dawn darkness at 5:30am to motivate those of us who are running in different age brackets. The contingent from St. Joe’s is a great addition to our team; we have Elizabeth to thank for helping to make it happen.
We’re looking forward to some great runs in April!
