The Indianapolis launch kicked off on Sunday, March 6th, when all new members of teams HVAF and Progress House were fitted for brand new running shoes at BlueMile in Broadripple. It was a spectacular day, with over 50 people in attendance. Thank you BlueMile for opening your doors to us, donating shoes for our inaugural members and for lending your expertise to get each set of feet in the type of shoe they need. Your hospitality was so warm and we are proud to be partnered with you. We would also like to give a shout out to our friends across the parking lot at Einstein bagels – thank you for providing us with some delicious bagels and coffee. What a successful morning! Check out pictures from the morning here!
The next step in our launch was the inaugural run for the teams! Title sponsor, Finish Line had volunteers out setting up for the morning run at 4:30am., on Tuesday, March 8th. Runners started flooding in at 5:15am, and the day began on the front lawn of the Indiana State Museum, with over 200 individuals ready to run! It was a magical experience to witness the massive amounts of support the Indianapolis community has poured into this launch. Check out pictures from the inaugural run here!
Unlike most of the BoMF chapter launches, who celebrate their launch with a breakfast, we had a luncheon. Thanks to our friends at the brand new JW Marriott downtown, we were able to share this experience with the Griffin Unveiling ceremony for the new hotel. It was our honor to be able to celebrate with Bill Marriott himself. On this beautiful day, the podium was also shared with Ann Mahlum, Bruce White, George Sanders, Mayor Greg Ballard and the wonderful MC, General Manager for the JW Marriott downtown Indianapolis, Scott Blaylock.
