Since Back on My Feet launched in Baltimore in March 2009, Charm City Run has been a huge supporter of our efforts.
CCR, who has a strong presence not just in the running community, but throughout the greater Baltimore area, jumped at the chance to include BOMF in their already extensive list of community partners. Not only has CCR been the sole carrier of BOMF merchandise in Baltimore, but they have also worked tirelessly with us on securing race entries, hosting runs at their store for our members and offering a generous discount for BOMF affiliates. In recent months, CCR and BOMF have expanded on their partnership and are excited about the potential that lies in the upcoming months.
On Saturday Aug. 14th, CCR will host a joint re-opening event to commemorate their own expansion as well as the long awaited addition of new residential members to the Back on My Feet community. CCR has agreed to fit and donate shoes to the next 15 guys to join the team. They will join their teammates and the greater running community that morning for their first run in their new shoes.
Additionally, CCR is working closely with us to provide a sustainable model of procuring gear for our members so that they have the proper attire and footwear for the first time they pound the pavement. CCR has generously offered the option for customers to purchase for a “BOMF package” when they buy a pair of shoes, they can opt to add $40 to their bill to buy a pair new pair of shoes for a new member starting up in the program. Everyone who participates will receive a free Back on My Feet/Charm City Run technical shirt.
It is through some of these new initiatives that CCR has enabled the Baltimore chapter to move towards self-sufficiency as a city. We are deeply grateful to CCR and the entire staff, particularly Josh Levinson, Kelly Dees and Katie Heyl for their generosity and patience, and most importantly their passionate belief in our cause.
