June was a big month for Clean and Sober Streets — many members ran their first race (the Georgetown Father’s Day 8K), they welcomed 3 new members, and Ms. Julie P. took over as team leader!
Even though it’s been hot with temperatures reaching into the 100′s, CSS has been working hard preparing for their next race – the Crystal City Twilighter 5K on July 24th – and their first half marathon later in September – the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon. Congratulations to De’Angelo for being chosen team captain!

Greg has only been running with the Clean and Sober Streets team for a few weeks, but he has already proved his commitment! Greg has 100% attendance, a positive attitude and is consistently at every Saturday optional run. Thanks for always showing up with a smile on your face, Greg!

Like Greg, Pete hasn’t been running with Back on My Feet for very long, but he is consistently at every run and social event on the calendar. Pete is always the first to volunteer for extra responsibilities and is a huge motivator for other members of the team. Thanks for all you do Pete!
