April was a busy month for CSS in DC!
The team has nearly doubled in size over the past few weeks with the start of the second group of res-members to the team, including BOMF DC’s first women members! Tammy and Loretta joined Ed, Jack, Dedric and George and have been nipping at the heels of the team veterans.
Members tore up the course at the GW Parkway 5k, led by Peter B finishing in just over 24 minutes for his first 5k. The team is excited for the May race the Capital Striders 8k!
RESIDENTIAL MEMBER OF THE MONTH: RAFAEL
Raf has come a long way in just a short month to complete his his first 3 mile run at the GW Parkway 5k. Never without a smile, Raf also announced to the team that he became a grandfather this month!
NON-RESIDENTIAL MEMBER OF THE MONTH: Julie Pekowski
Julie Pekowski has been unbelievable as the team organizer, diligently tracking mileage and attendance. She also ran the Boston Marathon in April (her first!), we’re proud and honored to have her on the team.
The team is looking forward to more race and some fast times in the warmer weather!
